Succcess story
Australian Farming Services
River Country's phenomenal growing conditions, Mediterranean climate and secure water supply has been key to Australian Farming Services sustained growth.
Australian Farming Services is a leading almond producer and processor, managing over 4,500 hectares of almond orchards and a state-of-the-art processing facility in the Murray River region.
Australian Farming Services (AFS) is a standout player in the almond industry, overseeing a substantial almond farming and processing operation spanning 4,500 hectares near Murray Downs, NSW. Founded in 2017, AFS steadily developed its orchards through the challenges of recent years, only slowing briefly during the COVID pandemic. Recognising a lack of industry processing capacity, AFS made the strategic decision in 2021 to build its own almond processing plant, enhancing the business from a pure farming operation to a vertically integrated enterprise, managing almonds from orchard to global market.
“Our primary goal was to cultivate and manage our almond orchards. But as demand outpaced processing capacity, we took a leap into processing ourselves,” explains David Armstrong, CEO of AFS. “This shift positions us as a major player, giving us control over the entire almond supply chain.”
